Outstanding instrument in the best Stainer tradition but with the most glorious rich orange-red varnish. Tonally it is seems far superior to any other maker from this period and location, perhaps more akin with the qualities of Albani who worked in Bolzano and whose work influenced Mayr, another Salzburg maker of the period. The violin is in remarkably fine condition.
