October 2014 Amati Exhibition

26th & 27th October, 2014

The Lansdowne Club, 9 Fitzmaurice Place,

Mayfair, London. W1J 5JD

It was October 2013 that saw the very first Amati.com stringed instrument event with its unique and exciting “dealer’s/makers” exhibition. It was held in tandem with its own stringed instrument auction and the those of the other major auction houses. The venue of the Lansdowne Club in the Heart of the city was within a short walk of all the major sale rooms, and as such an ideal choice for a venue.

This last October 2014 event was in every way as exciting as those before, attracting many, many musicians and violin lovers from both far afield and closer to home.

Throughout the two days were scheduled talks, demonstrations and panel discussions covering many topics connected with the fascinating world of stringed musical instruments. Anyone who hasn’t yet had an opportunity to sample the unique “Amati” experience will not be disappointed if they drop in. It’s highly unusual to see many fine antique instruments and bows offered under one roof by a number of “competing” dealers and experts – anything from the modest Collin-Mezin to the finest Strads and Del Gesus. Throw into the mix a selection of extremely gifted modern violin and bow makers, and you have quite a banquet to feast on. The next event is scheduled for the 29th and 30th March 2015 and will be held at the Langham Hotel, Portland Place.  I look forward very much to see you there!
