Matthew Hardie

Edinburgh, circa 1795

Outstanding and exciting cello by the ‘Scottish Strad’. Excellent state of preservation on a Stradivari pattern. Hardie’s cellos are highly appreciated by both connoisseurs and players alike and his work has been compared to that of Panormo in London, in part due to the fine Stradivari copies he made.

Measurements:

LOB = 75.3cm

Upper bouts = 34.9cm

Lower bouts = 44.1cm
