Instruments & bow sales

Instruments and bows ranging in quality from good student to top professional are always in stock and an interesting and wide selection is always available. Every item sold is guaranteed in authenticity and in perfect working order. Nothing leaves the shop that has not passed the most stringent tests of approval.

Items not in stock can often be sought out and specific requirements are always kept on record until a suitable instrument or bow becomes available. Since we are very familiar with international trade, overseas customers are most welcome. London is the world centre of the violin market and there are many good reasons why you should look for an instrument or bow here, not least to benefit from the competitive prices that can often be found.

Instrument and bow purchases

Instruments and bows for sale will be gladly seen at any time. If not of interest, advise will always be offered as to the best possible method of disposing of your instrument or bow. Sales on commission are welcomed.

Valuations and opinions

Valuations for insurance can be carried out, usually on the same day, but otherwise within 24 hours and policies with the major musical instrument insurance companies can be opened and effective immediately.

Opinions for private sale or purchase are given and although this is at our discretion we always aim to offer the best possible advice at all times.

Repairs and restoration

Adam Whone has over 30 years of experience as a violin maker, restorer and expert. All basic repairs such as setting up, cleaning, varnish work etc. can usually be carried out at fairly short notice. Larger repairs or restoration work can be undertaken but depends on the workshop schedule and other restoration work in progress.

It goes without saying that we carry out work only of the highest quality.

Bow repair work is also carried out, and first class rehairs can normally be carried out within 1 to 2 days.

Accessories

All major strings (Pirastro, Thomastic, Jargar, Larsen, Spirocore etc. etc.) and other normal accessories are always available on the premises.

Violin and viola cases by Mick Gordge are available on request and can be forwarded directly or for collection at the shop. There are three basic models and colours as follows:

Prelude, Classic and De Luxe.

External = Green or blue.
Internal = Green, blue, gold, burgundy etc.
